RANOCCHIA: "LOTS OF THINGS TO IMPROVE"

Defender chews over Napoli v Inter: "We've slipped up today but there's a long way to go and we have a quality squad"

NAPLES - Andrea Ranocchia knows Inter weren't up to scratch and he had no qualms coming out and saying it after the Nerazzurri suffered a 3-0 defeat at Napoli.

"There are lots of things that aren't going well and we'll look over them with the coach tomorrow," the defender explained after the match. "This one's gone now; we have to move on to the next one.

"We need to communicate better on the pitch – that's one of the things we have to work on. We want to play an aggressive game but when one of us makes a mistake the others have to pull out all the stops to make up for it.

"We've slipped up today but there's a long way to go and we have a quality squad. We must improve and hopefully the fans will keep getting behind us.

"Our start to the game definitely affected things. We were 2-0 down after five minutes and it's hard to come back from that at the San Paolo. We've got work to do and we'll start focusing on our next game tomorrow.

"We know it's a really difficult time for us. Lots of things have happened in the last few months but we've steadied the ship now and we must learn from this defeat.

"We're letting in too many goals and we must work hard. It was tough today because they forced us back with their direct running."
