A TU PER TU, FARAONI: "RESOLUTE AND ASSURED"

"We can't make any more mistakes. We must go onto the pitch giving it everything, thinking one game at a time"

APPIANO GENTILE – Inter face Catania tomorrow and Davide Faraoni spoke about the Nerazzurri's next league match during an interview with Inter Channel for 'A tu per tu'.

"Against Catania we must be resolute and assured, and aware of the fact that we can't afford to make any more mistakes. We have to go out onto the pitch giving it everything and without thinking about the league table, because now we must think of just one match at a time. All we're thinking about is getting out there and doing the best we can."

What can Faraoni bring to the side in this moment? "The calmness of a youngster in his first year in Serie A who can combine that with the advice of players who have spent years in the top flight. There's no messing around any more but we still need to remain calm and be aware of what we're doing and keep on our path. Unfortunately we're not going through a good spell but, as I said, you still need to be calm."

The Nerazzurri defender was then reminded that there have been words of high praise for him from Lazio's youth academy, where he came through, even comparing him in terms of talent to another Lazio youth product, Alessandro Nesta, who developed into a world-class player over the years. "It's great to be compared to someone like Alessandro Nesta. He was the captain when he was at Lazio so it's a lovely compliment. I'm grateful to the people who said that but these comparisons don't really mean much. Now I have to show what I am worth."

Faraoni was involved with the Italy Under-21 team earlier this week: "An amazing experience but the only thing on my mind now is the next game, against Catania."

After scoring his first Serie A goal at the Meazza against Parma ("I've watched it again lots of times but I hope to be able to watch plenty of others soon"), Faraoni admits that he's still smarting after his missed chance against Napoli: "I couldn't get to sleep the night after because of that shot. I was so upset because if it had gone in we would have got a point and we could have started to turn things around."
