RANIERI: "I BELIEVE IN THE PLAYERS, IN THIS TEAM"

"Maybe we've lacked a little determination at times and had a bit of bad luck. We must be stronger than this"

APPIANO GENTILE - How can we explain Inter's goal drought? That was a question put to Claudio Ranieri during the press conference before tomorrow's match against Catania: "Perhaps we've lacked a little determination at times and had a bit of bad luck. We need to be calm again, or at least stronger than everything that's happening to us. It's true that there have been times when our game hasn't been fluid but we've created chances all the same. But it's one thing when everything is going well, when the water flows down to the sea with no problems, and another when that doesn't happen: at the moment we're not able to send the water where we want it."

The Nerazzurri coach was asked how he sees Diego Forlan: "I see that he's determined to turn things around, which is the same thing I saw in Milito when he was struggling to hit the target."

As for the team in general, "We're trying everything but we haven't seen the results yet. We're not going to give up though. These lads won't give up, even if the do feel the burden of responsibility. We must try to play without any hang-ups and I'm sure the crowd will get behind us."

So does the coach still believe in these players and in this team? "I always believe in the players and in the team, it's just that our targets have changed. Now the target is to win tomorrow, as if it were the last game. Not for me. I don't feel this is a make-or-break match, I have complete faith in the club and I'm determined to do well. I want the team to be free of all psychological constraints."
