APPIANO GENTILE - "Tomorrow will be an important game to see if the lads have the right character and personality. With the situation we're in we must be cold-headed," said Claudio Ranieri during his press conference ahead of Inter v Catania.
The Nerazzurri coach was asked if it is important to feel the support of the club and the players: "It's very important because it's hard to work well otherwise. You solve problems by working together. There's no point denying that there are problems to resolve; there are things to be resolved otherwise I wouldn't have come to Inter, they wouldn't have changed coach. The situation isn't great but it was worse when I arrived. We can overcome these problems if everyone pulls together: from the club, which has been very supportive, to the players and the fans. And the fans have been behind us. I expect they will tomorrow as well for the whole game. Then, at the end of the match, they are free to say whether they liked what they saw."
Ranieri was then quizzed on what formation might be used and what he will base his selection on: "When I pick a team I don't look at the players' ages but on how well they are doing in training. I choose a line-up and formation that can cause problems for the opposition. We've had 11 wins and 11 defeats but we didn't deserve to lose all of those 11 games. Now we must show we're capable of responding with pride and determination but also with a cool head."
