INTER CHANNEL, STANKOVIC: "BACK ON TRACK"

"After a disastrous start, the team's qualities shone through. We'll go on like this and improve"

APPIANO GENTILE – "We're back on track again after a disastrous start, full of problems. But now the potential of the team has come to the fore and and we have to continue in the same way and improve even more. It's time to start again and we are ready," said Dejan Stankovic, today's guest on Prima Serata on Inter Channel.

The Nerazzurri midfielder spoke of the initial difficulties the team encountered: "It was really strange, one shock after another, because if you play for Inter you are used to attacking continually. It's only natural for a great team. We attacked, conceded one goal and lost the match. It was terrible. But then, with the help of Ranieri, the strength of the group and our quality brought us back to a good level, not great, but good. We are looking ahead, together: we've come through a lot of battles, and even wars, as a team, and we have always been able to hold our heads high."

The fans then asked Dejan what Inter can realistically manage to achieve this season as regards results: "We can't make any promises as we started the season with the handbrake on, but now we are on the right track. But we don't want to fool anyone, there are still a lot of points up for grabs... We have to keep up this pace and hope those ahead of us slow down. What matters is that we reacted and we are back and optimistic."

The 'old-age' story came up again: was this difficult start to the season due to the age of the team? "That's what's written on our ID card, but we'll let football decide. It was difficult at the beginning, but it wasn't the first time it has happened to us; with Mancio and with José we had problems too, so I think we can forget about the age on our ID."
