Maximum points in November & December

José Mourinho has a perfect record in Serie A games in the last two months of the calendar year, having won 9 out of 9 (6 in November and 3 in December).

Inter unbeaten in last 28 home league matches; one goalless game in last 82

Inter have avoided defeat in their last 28 Serie A games at home, collecting 21 victories and 7 draws since their 2-1 reverse against Juventus on 22 March 2008. In league matches at the Meazza the Nerazzurri have failed to score in just one of their last 82 - a 0-0 draw with Genoa on 26 October 2008. They have scored 182 goals in the other 81 matches.

Milito on a milestone

Diego Alberto Milito will be hoping to celebrate his 100th Italian league match with a goal. The Argentine striker, who has scored 64 times in 99 Serie A & B matches with the shirts of Inter and Genoa, will complete a century of appearance by appearing against Roma. He played his first Italian league match on 1 February 2004 (Genoa 1-1 Ascoli in Serie B).

Chivu set to reach double century

By appearing against his ex-team Roma, Cristian Chivu will complete a double century of appearances for Italian clubs. The Romanian defender has played 140 times in Serie A, 26 in Coppa Italia, 30 in European competitions and 3 in the Italian Super Cup. Chivu made his 'Italian' debut in Roma's 5-0 Serie A win over Brescia on 14 September 2003.

Twenty-one different scorers

Eleven Inter players have scored Serie A goals after 11 rounds of matches (Balotelli, Cambiasso, Eto’o, Lucio, Maicon, Milito, Motta, Muntari, Sneijder, Stankovic, Vieira), while Roma are one of three teams with 10 players on target (Brighi, Burdisso, De Rossi, Menez, Mexes, Perrotta, Riise, Taddei Ferrante, Totti and Vucinic). The other two are Juventus and Genoa.

Ranieri one away from 100th defeat in Italian championships

Claudio Ranieri has led teams in 410 Italian championship matches, winning 166, drawing 145 and losing 99. The first of his 99 defeats (70 in Serie A, 13 in Serie B and 16 in Serie C1) was on 27 September 1987 when his Campania side lost 5-0 against Campobasso in Serie C1.

Roma's last clean sheet back in May

The last time Roma kept a clean sheet in Serie A was on 3 May 2009 when they drew 0-0 at home to Chievo. The Giallorossi have let in a total of 28 goals in their 15 league fixtures since that date. Away from home, Roma have conceded in 19 consecutive away matches (in all competitions), letting in a total of 42 goals. Their last away match without conceding was a 3-0 away win at Napoli on 25 January 2009.

MILAN - Inter take a five-point lead over second-placed Juventus into the third international break of the season as José Mourinho's team followed up their midweek win in Kiev with a gritty 1-1 draw against Roma.

Mirko Vucinic made his third chance count after two misses to give the Giallorossi an early lead, Samuel Eto'o replying with his sixth Serie A goal shortly after the break.

Mourinho (now unbeaten in 150 domestic league and cup fixtures at home) rested Sneijder and Cambiasso for Sunday night's clash, which kicked off after a video to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Angelo Moratti. The Inter coach moved Zanetti to left-back and starting Muntari, Vieira and Thiago Motta behind Stankovic in midfield.

Eto'o and Milito continued up front but it was Roma number nine Vucinic who had the early chances. He was intercepted by Lucio for his first and sent his second way over, but the Montenegrin got his aim right with chance three, towering above Lucio to meet Motta's cross from the right and sending his looping header over Julio Cesar.

Roma had their keeper Julio Sergio to thank for keeping a clean sheet until half time. The Brazilian made a vital block from Milito after a brilliant through ball by Muntari. He showed his awareness again minutes later, beating Stankovic to a through ball before a double error by Mexes went unpunished.

Mexes had been struggling with a knee knock but the French defender played on with the captain's armband after Roma lost De Rossi in the 34th minute after injuring his cheekbone in a duel with Vieira.

Roma were denied the space to counter and Milito produced another chance before half time, turning Andreolli before seeing his deflected shot go behind.

All the ingredients were there for a repeat of Kiev. Roma had been sitting on their lead, their only chances coming from set pieces and Riise narrowly missed before the break with a low deflected free kick. Mourinho made two changes at the start of the second half, bringing on Balotelli and Sneijder for Muntari and Vieira to give his team a more attacking edge.

Inter's equaliser came at just the right time. Three minutes in, Thiago Motta pounced on a loose ball after Maicon's cross and played into the path of Eto'o who swivelled and arrowed his precise shot past Julio Sergio.

Both teams had plenty of chances to win the game. Menez forced a fisted block from Julio Cesar, who later kept out an effort from Faty. But at 1-1, the only team to hit the back of the net was Inter, Milito crashing home after latching on to Sneijder's headed pass, only for the flag to go up for offside.
