MORATTI: "CUPER WAS PRUDENT AND COURAGEOUS TO FIELD CORDOBA IN THAT POSITION."

MILAN - Inter president Massimo Moratti spoke to sports journalists late this morning. Here's the text of the interview (2).

Are you expecting Batistuta's foul to be subject to examination of videotape evidence?
No. First of all because I think the referee saw it and also because it didn't seem to me to be such an exaggerated episode.

Vieri has sustained a contusion and he'll probably just miss the Italian national team match. Instead, there are more concerns for Emre...
Both cases are worrying. For Vieri it's just a knock, but a hard knock. Let's hope he can recover in a week. Objectively, Emre's problem is more serious. It's more than just a simple knock. He will undergo the necessary medical assessments today. I hope he recovers quickly, but in any case it's more serious.

What are your impressions of Recoba's performance?
Very good. I think he played his match and he always strikes a lot of fear into opponents. When he runs with the ball at his feet he's capable of doing harm. I think the three we have up front can do harm, though for different reasons.

Cuper did well to invent a new position for Cordoba...
Yes, but Cuper is good. He made an intelligent move by also preventing Pasquale from a potential disqualification. Also, Cordoba guaranteed greater cover for a match in which we were required to push forward and attack. From this point of view he [Cuper] was prudent and courageous at the same time.
