MILAN – Inter Youth Team maintained the top spot in Group B of the national youth championship with a 1-1 draw away to Vicenza. Corrado Verdelli is satisfied with the point earned thanks to a late effort from Mattia Altobelli.
Verdelli commented, "It was a much deserved result. We even dominated for thirty-five minutes. It was a tough match, Vicenza were very orderly and they are a very physical side. They also had two reiforcements from the first team..."
The Nerazzurrini coach brought on Eliakwu and Altobelli during the encounter, a tactical move which proved decisive in his side getting the equaliser. Together with Martins and Chiaria, Inter had four players up front. "Yes, the circumstances of the match led me to make this decision. And we were rightly rewarded."
