MORATTI: "INTER'S STRONG PERSONALITY AGAINST TORINO GAVE ME A GOOD IMPRESSION."

MILAN - (ANSA) The "strong personality" shown by Inter on the pitch last night was the aspect Inter president Massimo Moratti liked best about his team's performance.

At the Delle Alpi, Moratti saw his team play "with great calm, even in the first half" when the score was still 0-0. In an interview with Telelombardia, he added that not just the trident, but also the midfield gave him "a good impression."

Moratti commented, "I didn't have to wait for last night's match to appreciate Recoba's qualities. He played te match at the same level of other performances of his, but I had the impression that playing all three of them up front worked. I also liked the defence and the midfield, I saw players continuously in movement and with great personality."

Moratti was satisfied with Batistuta's performance, even though the Argentine didn't score. "He showed a strong will and personality. It's not very easy for Batistuta to show his value immediately, but I think his team-mates have given him a good welcome and have helped him fit in with our style of play."

Inter remain on top of the table, but Moratti is sure his side will have to fight right to the end with Milan and Juventus.

"I saw the Rossoneri's match. They had problems because Modena played very well and there aren't any easy matches. The penalty? Yes, it was a penalty. I think we will continue to be up there with Milan and I think it's a very interesting championship with three teams in front, because I wouldn't leave out Juventus who are always very concrete."
