NEWCASTLE - Champions League Group A opponents Newcastle United beat Bolton Wanderers 1-0 on Wednesday night in a Premier League match at St. James' Park.
Former Nerazzurri midfielder Youri Djorkaeff's side Bolton were sunk by a Jermaine Jenas goal from close range in the 18th minute of the first half. As a result of the win, the Magpies move to within two points of Manchester United and seven points of leaders Arsenal.
Sir Bobby Robson's side play against next Wednesday away to Spurs, a team they beat 2-1 at home earlier in the season thanks to goals from Speed and Shearer.
