INTER VS. TORINO, STATS AND FACTS

All you need to know ahead of Sunday’s lunchtime kick-off in San Siro

MILANO – The nerazzurri are back in the San Siro for MD 12 of Serie A TIM. Together with Opta, here are the statistics and pieces of trivia for the match.

Inter have won 65 of the 146 previous Serie A encounters with Torino (D47, L34). Inter have also scored in 16 of the last 18 Serie A matches against the Granata, keeping nine clean sheets along the way. Inter and Torino have only played in one lunchtime kick-off before, which ended in a 1-0 away win for the nerazzurri in November 2015. In all of the 12:30 home games played so far (two on a Saturday and six on a Sunday), Inter have won four times (D2, L2).

For the third time in history, Inter have won nine and drawn two of their first 11 Serie A games: In both the 1988/89 and 1952/53 season, the nerazzurri went on to win the league. Inter are unbeaten in their last 13 Serie A matches (W11, D2): only Napoli (23) have a longer unbeaten run. Inter have won all of their last six Serie A home games, keeping three clean sheets and conceding only two goals.

Roma (11) are the only team to have hit the woodwork more times than Inter (seven) this season. The nerazzurri have scored the most goals in the last 15 minutes of play (nine) so far. In fact, Luciano Spalletti‘s side have gained seven points by scoring after the 75th minute.

Ivan Perisic was directly involved in nine goals in the first 11 Serie A games of the season. The Croatian striker is the only player apart from Ciro Immobile to have made at least four assists (five in his case) and scored at least four goals so far. The last three Serie A nerazzurri goals at the Meazza stadium have all been scored by Mauro Icardi.

Antonio Candreva has created 32 chances for his teammates so far: Only Insigne (33) has done better this season. Candreva has scored three Serie A goals against Torino, including his first top-flight brace in April 2014 for Lazio. If he plays on Sunday, it will be his 50th Serie A game for the nerazzurri. Furthermore, Milan Skriniar could play his 50th overall Serie A match. He has scored both of his goals for Inter.
