Nerazzurri pair Candreva and Eder start Italy's opening 2018 World Cup qualifier

MILAN - Giampiero Ventura's Italy side got off to winning start in their World Cup qualifying campaign on Monday evening thanks to a 3-1 victory in Israel.

Graziano Pelle (14) and a penalty from Inter man Antonio Candreva (31) gave the Azzurri a 2-0 lead before the hosts' Ben Chaim cut the deficit ten minutes before the break. Ciro Immobile then wrapped up the points late on (83).

Nerazzurri duo Antonio Candreva and Eder both started in Haifa, before making way for Alessandro Florenzi and Immobile respectively midway through the second period.
