TAIDER: "MY GOAL YESTERDAY WAS IMPORTANT BECAUSE IT WAS MY FIRST AT SAN SIRO"

Algerian midfielder to Sky Sport 24: "It was important to go through. Now we need to learn from our mistakes so we don't let our guard down"

APPIANO GENTILE - A goal against Sassuolo and one yesterday in the Coppa Italia against Trapani. Saphir Taider spoke to Sky Sport 24 about his and Inter's current form: "It was my first goal at San Siro so that's always nice, but it was important to go through. Is it true that San Siro brings with it a sort of complex for young players? No, I don't look at things that way, it's always a pleasure to be able to play at the Meazza. We always try and give everything on the pitch, then the next day the coach tells us what mistakes we made and we try to avoid them in future. We need to be able to stay focused for 90 minutes and we mustn't give up."

From Bologna to Inter, a step up that doesn't faze Taider: "I'm fine, I know I'm still young and I've got a lot to learn, that's why I came to Inter. I try to improve every day and I know I still have a lot to work on. What do I need to do to become more consistent? The coach is giving me confidence and every time I go out there I try to give my all, but obviously no two games are the same. I'm playing in a different position this season and I'm happy because I like to be on the ball and defend."

What about his friend Ishak Belfodil, who also found the net against Trapani. "I think he's doing well, he's got huge talent and he did well at Parma. This year he's training very well and he knows that every time he goes out there he needs to give everything to perform well. He has to keep doing that because the club have faith in him."

Saphir then gave his thoughts on the new president Erick Thohir ("he gives young players a chance, we're confident") before commenting on an opinion expressed by honorary president Massimo Moratti, who claims there is no difference between foreign players and Italians: "It's true, we're all one team on the pitch. It helps that we're a squad made up of lots of different nationalities."

Finally Taider spoke about the difficulties Inter should expect in their next league match, against Parma: "It will be a tough game because they're a good team, but we'll be at home and we want the three points."
