"I’m
very happy here at Inter and I’ve been learning new things," stated the
Portuguese defender. "Knowing Mazzarri helped me because I arrived a bit
late at the beginning of the season. However, I was already familiar with his
ideas of the game. Early on at Napoli I struggled a bit to get used to the
3-man defence, but you can always improve when you work hard."
Rolando
on tactics and opponents: "Tactics are very important for a defender when
it comes to learning the characteristics of an opposing team or their
individual players. As a defender you’re facing a different forward every week.
It’s not good to make preparations only on a physical level since all forwards
are different and we have to be prepared to face all of them."
Rolando
was asked for his opinion on which player is the best, Messi or Cristiano
Ronaldo, but he had few doubts: "They’re both great footballers. But I’m
Portuguese so I can’t help but name Cristiano. He’s also a friend."
