FORZA INTER, FROM AFGHANISTAN

The Inter Club Peppino Prisco has thirty members among the Alpini working for the ISAF in Kabul

KABUL – Having chosen to serve Italy as Alpini and other military members, their life is one of borders. Now they’re in Kabul, where they have requested to form an Inter Club named after Giuseppe Prisco. Thirty motivated Nerazzurri fans that serve as part of the International Security Assistance Force; the mission that supports the Afghan government in the development and strengthening of local institutions. The purpose is to make the country of Afghanistan more stable and secure.

General Giorgio Battisti, currently the Chief of Staff to the ISAF Command and in-Theatre Italian Senior National Representative (in the centre in the photo), is a lifelong Nerazzurri fan and has carried his passion with him on all of his missions. Our first contact with him dates back to 2004 when he was in Kabul and, in an e-mail, humbly asked us how he could watch our games.

For these soldiers, Inter is something they carry with them around the world, even in the most challenging and difficult moments.

The ISAF also carries out humanitarian assistance for the population. And just last year, in October, Inter supported the Italian Air Force in Herat in festivities for the local children.
