CAMBIASSO: "SAN SIRO TABOO PUT TO BED BUT..."

"They'll find something else to go on about now. It would have been no surprise if we'd won 4-1"

MILAN - Esteban Cambiasso was "pleased with the performance and the win" but when asked if victory over Fiorentina meant the 'San Siro taboo' could finally be put to bed, he replied with the savvy of someone who's seen it all before: "I'm sure they'll find something else to go on about now."

Cuchu then went into more detail about the match itself: "The first half was really good and I don't think anyone would have been surprised if the game had finished 4-1. Regardless of how well we did tonight though, we've never lacked the desire or the right approach. You just get days when you play better and others when you can't quite manage it. We're a developing team: Stramaccioni has very clear ideas of what he wants and we're following him."

On the week that lies ahead: "We're just looking at Thursday's game for now, only afterwards will we think about the derby. There's never a favourite for that game. It doesn't matter who goes into it in better or worse form, it's a clean slate in the derby."

Cambiasso went on to chat about his youngest team-mates ("They have an incredible desire to succeed"), while firing off a warning about Philippe Coutinho ("You haven't seen anything yet, he's going to really surprise people"). He also had a few words to say about Antonio Cassano: "He's happy to be here and he felt at home instantly, you can see that in his face. He's not only helping us a lot with his goals, it's his all-round game."
