GARGANO: "SO HAPPY HERE AT INTER"

"Cassano's a crazy joker who never shuts up. It's great to have someone like him in the team"

MILAN – Walter Gargano was among the Nerazzurri players who attended the PUPI Foundation's 11th anniversary party. He gave a brief interview to Sky Sport 24 on the sidelines of the event.

"Yesterday was a big win for us. Things are starting to go the way they should be. Tonight? Zanetti does marvellous things for his Foundation. I get on really well with him and everyone at Inter. I can only thank my team-mates, the club and everyone else - they all do their jobs so well."

The midfielder was then asked about the team's fluctuating fortunes at home and away from the San Siro. "I've never known such a difference between home and away results. But we want to start winning now and hopefully we'll start against Fiorentina on Sunday."

And his former club Napoli? "I'm delighted they are top. My old team-mates and my family are there and I have a great relationship with the whole group. Having said that, I'm really very happy here in Milan. My wife and I are settling into a splendid city that I must get to know better."

Gargano also joked about the haircuts sported by his team-mates: "Pereira really does need a haircut, we all tell him so in the dressing room. But if he's happy like that, good luck to him..."

Regarding another of his team-mates, Antonio Cassano, the Uruguayan had this to say: "He's such a crazy joker, he never shuts up... But it's great to have someone like that in the team. Have I been surprised by how well he's done? No, I'd played against him before so I know how good he is. He still needs to reach his best form - he's said as much himself. The time will come when he can play every game. I hope he gets back to his best soon."

Gargano ended with a comment on the upcoming derby (Sunday 7 October): "I'm not thinking about it for the time being but I'm sure it will be amazing. And obviously I want to win it. Let's focus on this Sunday for now: we've got Fiorentina and we want to beat them."
