SPLIT - He was born, grew up and came through the youth ranks right here in Split. Marko Livaja spoke to Inter Channel about making his competitive debut for Inter in his hometown - a match which began for him when he came off the bench and was greeted by whistles. "I can understand the fans, I left Hajduk and so they whistled at me. I expected it. But I'm happy because it was my first game for Inter and because we won.
"They're a young side who do a lot of running," Livaja said of the opposition. "They are very careful and in two or three years' time they could develop into a great team. I might be able to play a bit more in the return leg but the main thing for me is just being on the pitch. I'm concentrating on working hard."
"Had I ever seen the Poljud turf as bad as that? It used to be worse.
"I expect to stay here at Inter in August. I don't know if they'll loan me out but it might be a good solution for me to get some more playing time because I'm still young. We'll see."
