MILAN
– He covers every blade of grass and he never stops running. Not even after 570 Serie A games. That's
Javier Zanetti, who tonight joined Dino Zoff as the third-highest Serie A appearance holder. The captain
celebrated the event with another special performance and afterwards he spoke to Inter Channel about it: "It was an important performance by the team tonight because we managed to withstand the pressure Siena were putting us under."
Two of the key figures in tonight's win were Javier Zanetti and Diego Milito: "But I think we all played very well because we had a great response after they took the lead following a fortunate episode. We waited for the right moment to up the pressure and we were able to get the two goals. So I think it was a deserved victory."
Inter and Zanetti want to push on now and go for third place: "It's tough because there are other teams ahead of us; it's going to be hard right to the end. But that's why we must keeping giving everything we've got until the last game. This season, apart from Juve and Milan, all the other teams are capable of winning games or dropping points."
Coming from behind to win a game is further proof that Inter are playing like Inter again: "It's a great sign because it means the team hasn't lost the character we've showed over the years. Not that long ago we were losing games like this. That doesn't mean it's all down to the change of coach because were tried to do the same thing with Ranieri; we had lots of things go against before, it's just the way our season has gone."
