MILAN - L'altropallone, a prize for people who combine sport with social and civil commitment, now in its 15th edition, was presented to Ivan Ramiro Cordoba today.
The Nerazzurri defender was awarded for his Colombia te quiere ver association, which helps poor children in his native country. He collected his prize alongside Clarence Seedorf, founder of Champions for Children. Theirs is a victory for solidarity.
The accolade was presented by the president of the panel Gianni Mura, Assocalciatori (Italian PFA) president Damiano Tommasi and L'altropallone coordinator Michele Papagna. Cordoba explained: "Money can help for example by paying for canteen meals for kids who go to school with nothing to eat and a whole host of other needs. It provides hope. Thanks to everyone who supports us and thanks to Italy, which has always helped us."
