MILITO ON MEDIASET: "I'M HAPPY HERE AT INTER"

"That's what matters. The Champions League final in Madrid? An unforgettable moment, a dream come true"

APPIANO GENTILE - "It was an unforgettable moment of joy and a dream come true on that evening in May," said Diego Milito. Of course he was talking about the night the UEFA Champions League was played in Madrid. Today on Studio Sport he will be introducing an evening which Mediaset Premium is dedicating to Bayern Munich 0-2 Inter.

"It wasn't only a dream which came true on a personal level, but the dream of a group," he continued, "because no Italian team has ever managed to perform such a feat and very few teams in Europe have managed to win the treble as we did. That was a magnificent year for me and it's difficult to put it into words, everything went right for me. But more than my goals I'd like to remember it for the joy and the pleasure we gave to our fans in what was a perfect season."

After that night - Mediaset reporter Marco Barzaghi recalled - Diego went through a difficult time: "After the treble-winning season came the World Cup, fatigue took its toll and I didn't have much of a break because we had to play two Super Cups, so I paid the price for that intense programme of matches. After that came a series of injuries and with so many it wasn't easy to make a decent comeback."

The striker was then reminded of the comments regarding the uncertainty of his future he made that night in Madrid: "I may have got the timing wrong, but I was sincere and said what I was thinking at the time. Now I don't want to go back over those comments. I'm happy at Inter and that's what matters."
