STATISTICS: INTER V LECCE SHOWS US...

Another Pazzini goal against the Giallorossi, Milito ends his drought and Alvarez scores 1st goal in Serie A

MILAN - (Football Data statistics) Inter ended 2011 by coming back to hand Lecce a 4-1 defeat at the San Siro. And yesterday's Nerazzurri scorers confirmed or debunked some statistics. Giampaolo Pazzini showed once again that he has a special knack for scoring against Lecce and they have become his preferred target in his career. He has scored 9 of his 112 career goals against the Giallorossi, beginning with Lecce 2-2 Atalanta on 12 September 2004 (his first goal in Serie A), Lecce 1-3 Sampdoria on 11 April 2009 in the Serie A, Lecce 6-2 Sampdoria on 16 August 2009 (a brace in the Italian Cup), Lecce 2-3 Sampdoria on 21 November 2010 (his only hat-trick in Serie A thus far), and Inter 1-0 Lecce last 20 March (Serie A).

Diego Milito scored a goal at the San Siro in a league match after almost a year; the last one before yesterday came on 19 January 2011 in Inter 3-2. Then came two more goals at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, this time in the Champions League, against Schalke (in April) and Lille (in November).

Finally, there was a celebration for Ricky Alvarez who, after his goal in Trabzon in the Champions League, found the net in the league. Now Inter have a total of 13 different goal-scorers in the 2011/12 Serie A season, tied with Allegri's AC Milan.
