MILAN - Giorgios Karagounis follows in the footsteps of Grigoris Georgatos to become the second Greek player to join Inter.
Born on 6 March 1977 in Pyrgos, Karagounis is 1.76m tall, weighs 74kg and is described by Nerazzurri transfer market man Marco Branca as "a very versatile midfielder".
With Panathinaikos and Apollon, Karagounis has made 173 appearances in the Greek league, scoring 34 goals. He was part of the Panathinaikos side that won the domestic title in 1995/96.
In European cup competitions, Inter's new Greek player has made 44 appearances and has scored 4 goals.
