ALL ABOUT ANDY VAN DER MEYDE

MILAN - (Football Data) - Andy van der Meyde was born in Arnhem, Holland on 30 September 1979. He is 1.78m tall, weighs 77kg, and can play on either wing. He will become the sixth Dutchman to play for Inter after Wilkes, Bergkamp, Jonk, Winter and Seedorf.

A product of the Ajax youth sector, van der Meyde made his debut for the first team at the age of 18 in Ajax 1-0 Twente on 12 November 1997. Two years later he spent a season on loan to Ajax's opponents in his debut, where he played 32 matches and scored 2 goals before returning to Amsterdam in 2000.

In the last three seasons he has made 86 appearances for Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie, scoring 19 goals (11 last season). Van der Meyde scored 1 goal in the 2002/03 Champions League, his effort coming against Roma.
