The Spanish press criticised Inter and Juventus after the Champions League
matches…
First of all they remember last year’s 1-0 defeat in the
UEFA Cup and we all remember what type of match it was. In Spain I always received
criticism for being a defensive coach... On Wednesday Inter defended well with
a lot of men in defence. Italian football is seen by the Spaniards as a Catenaccio-style
game and they indicated me as a good candidate for the Serie A. Meanwhile, against
Roma I was criticised for being too offensive… We won 1-0 against Valencia and I hope
we also to win at the Mestalla.
Will the way AC Milan have changed their style of play favour
Inter?
The derby is something different. We cannot think about whether we have played
well in the last few matches or not, tomorrow there will be a lot of other factors
that we cannot foresee.
Was last Wednesday's victory needed ahead of the derby?
We only want the players to be well and the squad's moral to be high. After the
match against Valencia, the players were already focusing on the derby, because
they're automatically motivated for this match. And I don’t think Inter are better off
than AC Milan just because we won in the cup and they drew...
