MILAN - The Inter Club Regional Coordinators National Conference is underway in Milan. Nerazzurri vice president Giacinto Facchetti opened the proceedings by greeting and thanking the representatives of the 786 Inter Clubs (740 in Italy and 46 abroad) for their support and passion for Inter.
A series of meetings to discuss current and plan future initiatives, including speeches by Inter Club coordinators about their relationships with Inter, will be held over the next two days.The conference will come to a close tomorrow afternoon with a visit to the San Siro for Inter vs. Reggina.
Following Facchetti's message, the proceedings continued with a summary of Inter Club statistics. With respect to last season, there has been a 10.75% increase in the number of Inter Clubs (55 more clubs) and an 18.33% rise in the number of members (11,017 new members). Lombardy is the Italian region with the highest number of Inter Clubs (229), followed by Apulia (51), Veneto (50) and Tuscany (49). In terms of membership, there are 21,000 Inter Club members in Lombardy, 4,195 in Tuscany and 4,180 in Apulia. Internationally, the most organised nation is Switzerland. Inter Club Malta has the highest number of members (1,096), while the historic New York Inter Club is arguably the most famous.
