MATERAZZI TO INTER CHANNEL: "GOOD LUCK TO DEL PIERO. I HOPE HE RETURNS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE."

APPIANO GENTILE - After his positive return to first team action against Torino last weekend, Inter defender Marco Materazzi has set his sights firmly on this Sunday's match at home to Reggina, a side he knows well.

"We've all seen how Reggina managed to dominate Chievo," he said in an interview with Inter Channel. "They are an excellent team. They will come to Milan to get a result because their staying up depends on Sunday's match. But our Scudetto also depends on the same match. And our Scudetto is more important than their staying up..."

Materazzi took advantage of the occasion to wish his friend and national team companion Alex Del Piero a speedy recovery from injury.

"We've heard from each other via SMS. He will be inundated with phone calls in these few days so I want to leave him alone and wish him good luck. He's very intelligent and he's a great player. I hope he returns as soon as possible."
