CUPER: "I DON'T WANT THE TEAM TO CONSIDER REFEREES' MISTAKES AS ALIBIS."

APPIANO GENTILE - Hector Cuper press conference (3).

After Moratti and Facchetti's comments, do you have anything to add regarding the referee last Sunday?
I can understand one mistake and I can understand two, but I don't want the team to consider mistakes as alibis. There's always the possibility of drawing or winning. But I must admit that two situations like those we went through last week were difficult for a team. After two slightly irregular goals, including a difficult one to see like Vryzas', anything can happen. But it's no reason to play a match in the way we did.

Would you ever tell a player of yours to touch the ball with his hand?
No. I think the first thing everyone should tell their players is to play according to the rules. I can't tell them to use their hands or play in offside positions all the time in the hope that a linesman makes a mistake, because I don't have time to waste and it would also be wrong.
