LAUTARO MARTINEZ: "WE WANT TO CONTINUE TO WIN"

Lautaro Martinez was interviewed while attending an event organised by Nike: "We're always aiming to do more, both in the league and Europa League"

MILAN – While attending an event organised by Nike where he met Nerazzurri fans at the Calcio Shop in Milan, Lautaro Martinez spoke to the media in attendance. He started by talking about how it’s going for the team and him personally:

"We’ve managed to overcome a difficult spell, I’m very happy with things at the moment and always train with the aim of doing even better. On a personal level, I’m satisfied: I’m working hard and I feel calm. I haven’t set any targets in terms of goals, I’m just thinking about working hard and improving. When I get opportunities, I obviously want to score goals because it's the main job of a striker."

The Argentine forward has scored four goals in his last five starts and is getting increasingly more playing time: "Physically, I’m feeling good, also thanks to the work I do during the week. I’m training in the right way. I’ve always said that I’ve always been recognised for my efforts and treated well, I now need to continue to work hard in order to improve and continue on this path. The moment came to take the responsibility on my shoulders, and I’ve done everything to help my teammates. When you win, you work with more of a sense of calm."

He then spoke about his relationship with Inter’s Coach and the Nerazzurri’s upcoming matches: "I’ve got an excellent relationship with Spalletti. I’ve always trained well, he’s a coach that talks to you and helps you. I’m very happy with the work we’re doing, although we’re always aiming to do even better. We’ve dropped a few points along the way so far and currently find ourselves in third place, but we need to win because we want to maintain the position we're in and always try to do even better. We’ve got an important match in an important competition on the horizon, and we want to do well in it. It’s an objective that we want to achieve in addition to doing well in the league and winning as many games as possible."

Finally, he had this to say about Mauro Icardi: "Today was Mauro Icardi’s birthday and we wished him all the best, he was happy to be with us. He’s obviously a very important player for us."
