SUPERCOPPA PRIMAVERA TIM: ON THE EVE OF INTER VS. TORINO

The Nerazzurri will look to secure their first trophy of the season on Wednesday 20 February

MILAN - The first Under-19 title of the season is up for grabs tomorrow, with Inter taking on Torino in the Primavera TIM Supercoppa at 18:30 CET. The Nerazzurri are competing at the Stadio Breda in Sesto San Giovanni after winning the Scudetto on 9 June 2018, while Torino are present after winning last season’s Coppa Italia. This will be the 22nd final that a team from Inter’s Elite Academy has taken part in since 2013, and the ninth for the Under-19 outfit.

On the eve of the match, Nerazzurri Coach Armando Madonna spoke to Inter TV: “We’ve got a good feeling as we’ve picked up some important results recently. We’re coming up against a strong team that has beaten us in Primavera 1 TIM. We must always think about improving and putting in the best performance possible. I’m in charge of a strong side and we believe that we can put in a great display.

“We didn’t achieve consistency at the start of the season, even over the course of the same match. We’ve improved recently, but we’ve still not reached 100 percent. From a physical point of view, we’re doing really well. However, attention drops at times throughout the course of 90 minutes. We can’t allow this tomorrow. It’s important to have the right attitude and concede as little as possible to our opponents.”

As for the opposition, Madonna added: “Torino are a physical side and very experienced in this division. They have players who are strong on the counter-attack and they can create chances. We’ve prepared really well and my team wants to put in a great performance.

As for Primavera Captain Ryan Nolan, he also spoke to inter.it about the importance of tomorrow’s game: “Obviously, it’s a key match and we want to do well. Torino are a really strong side and they’ve got good attackers. The Granata always score plenty of goals and our defence should pay close attention right from the off. We’re aware that we’re a really strong group and we must show it tomorrow.”
