Ahead of the Nerazzurri's Round of 32 fixture on Thursday, we've teamed up with Opta to provide you with all the key facts and figures

MILAN - The Nerazzurri will this week return to the European stage, taking on Rapid Vienna on Thursday. In collaboration with Opta, here are all the relevant stats and trivia for the fixture.

The only previous meeting between Rapid Vienna and Inter in Europe took place during the first round of the 1990-91 UEFA Cup. Inter triumphed 4-3 after losing 2-1 in the first leg, with Jürgen Klinsmann scoring the decisive goal during the return fixture (3-1). Inter have won six of their last seven matches against teams from Austria in Europe (one defeat), conceding just two goals in the process.

Rapid Vienna haven't won any of their last nine competitive matches against teams from Italy (three draws and six defeats.). Their last victory was in September 1990 against Inter in the UEFA Cup (2-1). Rapid Vienna are one of three teams who didn’t concede a single goal at home in the Europa League group stage, together with both Fenerbahce and Slavia Prague.

Inter haven’t won any of their last four European matches, registering two draws and two defeats. They haven’t recorded a longer streak since 2009 when they then went eight games without winning.

Inter have won only one of the last 10 away fixtures in Europe (three draws and six losses), which came in the Champions League group stage against PSV (2-1).

All of Rapid Vienna’s last 11 goals in the Europa League (including two own goals), have been scored by different players. Among the teams that progressed to the Europa League Round of 32 this season, Rapid Vienna are the side that has played the fewest passes in the opposition penalty area (75).

The seven goals conceded by Inter in the Champions League were all from open play. Mauro Icardi scored four of Inter’s six goals in the 2018-19 Champions League campaign, all of which were from the 60th minute onwards.

Meanwhile, Radja Nainggolan provided an assist during his last match for the Nerazzurri, having previously gone 10 games without.

Prior to this, he scored three goals in 10 appearances yet none of which were in consecutive matches.
