MILAN - This Sunday's Derby is almost upon us and in collaboration with Opta, here are all the stats that you need to know.
This will be the 168th Derby della Madonnina in Serie A, and with 62 wins, Inter have a better record than Milan, who've instead triumphed on 51 occasions. There have also been a total of 54 draws. The Nerazzurri notably have the edge when playing away derbies against the Rossoneri, with 32 wins to 27 defeats (24 draws).
Both teams have scored at least two goals during the last three league derbies, including two 2-2 draws and Inter's 3-2 win during this season's earlier encounter.
Six of Inter's last 10 last goals in Serie A have been from set-pieces, while in total, they've scored 16 from dead-ball situations. This is the fourth highest in the top tier this season. Inter have also struck the woodwork more than anyone else so far -15 times - while Milan have done so only on eight occasions, twice during this season's first derby.
Mauro Icardi has scored four goals in the last two Milan derbies in the league. João Cancelo has played an average of 105 passes during his 90-minute Serie A performance this season, with only Jorginho (116) and Hamsik (108) boasting better records. Antonio Candreva has played a part in at least one Inter goal during each of the derbies he's played in, including two goals and one assist - the latter being a cross that set up the opener during the first game between the two this season. Ivan Perisic made his Serie A debut against Milan in September 2015, since scoring one goal and providing three assists in games against the Rossoneri (two for Icardi and one for Candreva).
