INTER VS. CHIEVO VERONA: STATS AND TRIVIA

In collaboration with Opta, here is all the info that you need ahead of Sunday’s match at 15:00 CET

MILAN - Inter will be back in the action at the San Siro this weekend, taking on Chievo Verona on Sunday at 15:00 CET. Together with Opta, here are all the stats and bits of trivia that you need to know prior to kick-off.

Inter and Chievo have faced off a total of 30 times in Serie A, with the Nerazzurri securing 18 wins in comparison to the Venetian’s five (seven draws). Following their first ever triumph back in December 2001, Chievo have since failed to beat Inter away from home in 14 matches (4 draws, 10 defeats). Inter are currently unbeaten in their last 16 league matches (13 wins and 3 draws), which is their longest streak since February 2008. Spalletti’s side have also scored more goals from crosses than anyone else in the league (10). Chievo are currently second with seven.

With 11 goals, Inter have scored more in the final 15 minutes of matches than anyone else this season. The Nerazzurri have also only conceded once in the first 30 minutes of games this season, which is another landmark in this year’s Serie A campaign.

Mauro Icardi is the third player in Inter’s history to have scored at least 15 goals in four consecutive seasons. The other two were Stefano Nyers (1949-53) and Giuseppe Meazza (1930-36).

Icardi has scored in three of his last four league matches against Chievo, including his last two at the Meazza: February 2016 and January 2017. Éder has also scored five times against Chievo in Serie A, only recoding more against Udinese (eight).

Chievo are the only team that Andrea Ranocchia has scored against more than once in Serie A: these three goals include one from his first Serie A strike back in October 2009 and then also his most recent back in December 2014. Meanwhile, Candreva has created more chances for his teammates than anyone else in Serie A this season (44).

Davide Santon’s next appearance will be No. 100 with Inter in all competitions. He has so far featured on 79 occasions in the league.

Luciano Spalletti has been victorious in all previous clashes against Rolando Maran in Serie A.
