MILAN – In coincidence with the new sporting season, FC Internazionale Milano have started a new important CSR project in Milan. With its roots located in Inter’s home, the project is entitled Inter in the Community.

One of the planned events took place on Monday 20th November for Universal Children’s Day. This was a meeting with children currently kept at a Youth Detention Centre in Milan.

This initiative was put together with the help of Mediaset Premium, who are the club’s Media Partner.

As with all special initiatives, Inter contributed a number of guests for the event, including: Vice-President Javier Zanetti, members of the Nerazzurri academy, club employees and also employees from the sponsor partner of the initiative.

The group initially enjoyed a focused meeting, before they then took part in a football match. With the kids being put through the system by the CSI Milan Committee, they are undergoing a period of personal growth and behavioural development.

It was a significant experience for all those taking part, especially for the kids who want to redeem themselves and start again.

“Through these initiatives,” said Vice-President Zanetti. “We are standing side by side with the kids and people in our community, who are going through particular stages in their life. We are not here to resolve the problems but rather to make them feel less alone. These are also very important life experiences for those in the academy.”

Marco Leonardi, who is AD of Mediaset Premium, has since had this to say: “We are happy to have supported this important initiative. Passion for football is our vocation and we proudly contribute towards spreading constructive and unifying values.”
