ICC 2017, INTER V LYON IN NANJING ON 24 JULY

The Nerazzurri will play the French outfit at Nanjing Olympic Sports Center as part of the International Champions Cup China

MILAN – Inter are going back to China this summer to take part in the 2017 International Champions Cup China.

The prestigious pre-season tournament organised by Catalyst Media Group and Relevent Sports has been a regular fixture on the agenda of many of the world's biggest clubs for a number of years now.

The Nerazzurri's first ICC 2017 opponents – replacing AC Milan – will be Olympique Lyonnais on 24 July. The match is to be played at Jiangsu Suning's home ground, the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center.

Inter's involvement in the tournament was confirmed at a press conference in Shanghai in March, attended by Inter Forever member and former Nerazzurri star Walter Zenga.

It will be the first time Inter have played in China since Suning Holdings Group acquired a majority share last summer, though F.C. Internazionale have long enjoyed a special relationship with China since becoming the first Italian club to visit the country almost 40 years ago.

After facing Lyon in Nanjing, the Nerazzurri will continue their Summer Tour in Singapore, with further International Champions Cup matches lined up against Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

Inter are due to play the Bundesliga champions on 27 July and the Premier League winners on 29 July.

Chelsea and Bayern Munich will kick off the three-team tournament – the first of its kind involving top European sides in Singapore – on 25 July.
