MILAN – F.C. Internazionale is delighted to announce the signing of Joao Mario.
The Portuguese midfielder will be introduced to the Nerazzurri faithful at the San Siro this evening.
Joao Mario joins Inter following his triumph at this summer's European Championship in France. In welcoming him to the club, Jindong Zhang said: “I followed Joao throughout the Euros and saw Portugal's victory in the final. Now I hope to see him achieve more success in an Inter shirt.”
President Erick Thohir also welcomed the new arrival: “We're delighted to have Joao Mario at Inter. He's a top player and we'd been tracking him for a long time. He'll further reinforce what is already a very strong squad.”
Born in Porto on 19 January 1993, Joao Mario spent four seasons at Sporting Lisbon, with a brief loan spell at Vitoria Setubal. He won the Portuguese Cup in 2014/15 and the Portuguese Super Cup in 2015.
Aged 23, he already has 18 Portugal caps and a European Championship winner's medal to his name.
