MILAN – Inter general manager Marco Fassone answered questions from journalists after attending the draw for Serie A 2015/16 at Expo 2015 headquarters this evening.
Commenting on the draw, which produced a mouth-watering Milan derby in just the third week of the season, Fassone declared: "It will be great to play each other again so soon in a proper match. Inter and AC Milan are both working hard to be successful next season.
"In terms of the Scudetto, it will all come down to how the teams perform on the pitch. We have a lot of strong teams to play and that will demonstrate whether the gap with Juventus has been cut or not," declared Fassone.
There were then a few questions about the transfer market: "We’re focusing on Jovetic right now, we have another month to weigh up everything else. The decision to make the signing was shared by everyone – the coach and the club. Felipe Melo and Perisic? The transfer window is open for a long time and we also need to look at thinning the squad at. Shaqiri? He’s with us for the moment. We’ll see…"
Last but not least, Fassone spoke about Inter’s tour of China: "We knew we were going to be facing top-quality sides in these friendly matches. I’m not worried about the Real Madrid defeat."
