PISA - Federco Bonazzoli was obviously delighted after Inter clinched the Viareggio Cup today and he took a few moments to share his joy with Inter Channel after the final whistle.
His first thoughts were ones of gratitude. "I want to thank the gaffer and the rest of the lads for giving me this opportunity to play in this competition," he declared.
The talented marksman, named 'Golden Boy' of this year's tournament, went on: "I want to share this prize with the team. I'm absolutely thrilled."
Bonazzoli ended the competition as joint topscorer with five goals, despite not featuring until the knockout stage. Asked to name the best of the bunch, he replied: "Perhaps today's because of how important it was, but the one against Pescara was too."
Inter won the Carnival Cup depsite having to contend with some difficult playing surfaces. The youngster concluded: "We do like to play ball along the ground. We've had a superb tournament."
