MILAN – The satisfaction of the young Nerazzurri players at the end of the game was palpable, and coach Stefano Vecchi was full of praise for his charges.
"We did well to dictate the game the way we wanted to," he started. "I’m satisfied, though there are still some things to improve on. This is a real team; a united group made up of players who are happy to sacrifice themselves and we must maintain that. We have a lot of attacking options. We play Chievo Verona next week and must prepare well for that match."
Youth academy director Roberto Samaden was also very pleased with the result: "Milan are a strong team and hadn’t conceded a single goal until today. It really makes a difference when you have a top manager and a tight-knit group of players. We’ve won today because our players know how to play as a team – they’re well-drilled all over the field."
