INTER 1-1 JUVENTUS

A fiercely fought encounter ends all square at the Meazza. Both goals in the 2nd half, Vidal cancelling out Icardi's opener within two minutes

MILAN - Inter's Week 3 meeting with Juventus at the Stadio Meazza has finished 1-1, with both goals coming in the second half. Icardi put Inter in front in the 73rd minute only for Vidal to level the scores less than two minutes later.

Mazzarri went with an unchanged back three against Conte's side, Campagnaro, Ranocchia and Juan Jesus lining up in front of Handanovic. Jonathan and Nagatomo got the nod in the wide roles once again, while Guarin, Cambiasso and Taider completed the five-man midfield. Alvarez continued in the hole behind Palacio.

Inter started the game with the bit between their teeth and harried the Bianconeri all over the pitch in the opening stages. Nagatomo saw an early volley saved by Buffon before Pirlo offered Pogba a great chance to put Juve in front just after the half-hour mark, Handanovic standing up well to the Frenchman's volley. With both teams playing identical formations, the Nerazzurri's pressing game was making life difficult for the visitors, but the first half ended goalless.

Palacio repeatedly got himself into dangerous positions in the second period without creating any really clear-cut chances, which is what Vidal had in the 58th minute when released on the left by Tevez: thankfully the Chilean shot across the face of goal. The deadlock was broken by Icardi in the 73rd minute, five minutes after he'd come on for Taider: the Argentine youngster latched onto Alvarez's through ball and smashed his finish past Buffon. Juventus were level in next to no time, though, Vidal controlling the ball well in the centre of the box and firing left-footed into the corner. After another great save by Handanovic to keep out Vidal's header, Isla had a chance to win it at the end but failed to hit the target.
