SERIE A, INTER 1-3 LAZIO

Third consecutive defeat for the Nerazzurri. First win at the Meazza in 15 years for Lazio

MILAN – Inter slipped to their third defeat in a row as Lazio, without a victory in San Siro since 1998, ran out 1-3 winners this evening.

Petkovic's men took the lead in the 22nd minute and it was a cruel way for Inter to concede. Handanovic failed to claim Candreva's cross and the ball bounced off Ranocchia, Juan Jesus and Floccari, with the visiting striker being awarded the goal. The Nerazzurri got themselves level after 33 minutes when Alvarez rose to beat Radu in the air and head home off the crossbar. Cambiasso tried to add a second shortly afterwards but first saw his long-range drive tipped onto the post by Marchetti and then had a close-range effort charged down. Lazio were awarded a penalty three minutes into first-half stoppage time following contact between Ranocchia and Floccari. Hernanes made no mistake from the spot and the teams headed in at the break with the visitors leading 1-2.

In the 70th minute Guarin won a penalty after showing a bit of trickery to Cana inside the box. Alvarez assumed spot-kick duties but slipped at the decisive moment and fired over the bar. Six minutes later, Lazio's Nigerian youngster Onazi scored his first-ever Serie A goal - an absolute belter from 30 yards out.

The match finished 3-1 to Lazio but despite the defeat the Nerazzurri fans showed their support by applauding the team off the pitch.
