SILVESTRE: "ALWAYS READY WHEN INTER NEED ME"

"I'll make the most of every chance I get. We must stay focused and stop Partizan from playing tomorrow"

BELGRADE - Matias Silvestre was the player chosen to accompany Andrea Stramaccioni in the press conference before Partizan Belgrade v Inter. "As we saw in the first game, we're up against a very technical team with young, talented players. It wouldn't be right to pick out one player in particular, but we must remain focused and try to stop them from playing their game."

Silvestre was asked if he expected it would be so hard for him at Inter. He replied: "I'm aware that I've joined a great team where there is a lot of competition for places. I've answered when I've been called upon and I try to make the most of every opportunity I get. I've always had a very open relationship with the coach and I'll give it everything I've got."

The Argentine defender continued: "It's never easy when you're playing on and off and I hope to get the chance to play a bit more regularly. I'm sorry that my team-mates are injured and I hope to see them back on the pitch soon."

How is it different playing in defence for a team like Palermo and at one like Inter? Silvestre explained: "I haven't noticed that much difference really. I've had less opportunity to play recently but the team has been doing well so it's only right that they should continue. In any case, it's up to the boss to decide these things. I'm always ready to help when needed."
