STRAMACCIONI: "RESULTS YES, BUT PROGRESS TOO"

"We've found the right set-up but we must keep honing it. Cassano's doing the things we signed him for"

APPIANO GENTILE – Getting the result while growing as a team. Those are the two targets Andrea Stramaccioni sets himself for each game, as he explained to the gathered media on the eve of Inter v Fiorentina: "I think you have to focus on getting a result. But at the same time you must try to take your team to the next level. A result for the result's sake won't get you very far. We've found a set-up that enables the players to express themselves to the best of their ability, but we want to keep honing things. I think we already saw a clear improvement within the 90 minutes against Chievo. Inter were a lot more solid in the second half."

Has Stramaccioni been surprised by Antonio Cassano at all? "No, because he's a player I wanted. I pushed to bring him here and I'm pleased he's living up to his potential - he's doing the things we signed him for. Having said that, I prefer to wait and pass judgement at the end. He's made a very good contribution so far."

How much will the team miss Wesley Sneijder? "I believe in the group. It's moments like this when a coach shows the faith he has in his team. And a team like ours mustn't depend on a single individual. I'm sorry for Sneijder, especially as it was quite a hard, a nasty challenge, but you get that in games sometimes. I hope he makes a swift recovery but we're not worried because we have the players we need to be able to go out there and play like Inter anyway."
