MILAN - This afternoon more than 200 fans gathered to see Juan Jesus, special guest at the official Nerazzurri club store, in via Berchet, Milan. He posed for photographs, signed autographs and chatted to fans, even giving his opinion on yesterday's match against Siena.
"I don't like losing," explained the Brazilian defender. "We're
constantly trying to improve and cut out mistakes, now we're straight
back in action against Chievo in Verona. I hope we can play well and get
back to winning ways. What's the mood like in the dressing room? No one
likes to lose, we were all gutted yesterday, but we're working hard to
win our next game.
"I'm happy with how I've done so far. It's my job but I always want to do more for the team. I expect to do well, just like everyone at Inter, we're a big club which must always be competing for titles like the Scudetto and the Europa League."
Juan Jesus doesn't know anything about Andrea Stramaccioni potentially moving to a back three because "today in training we only did recovery work. We neither worked on nor spoke about tactics. I've played that system a few times for Brazil, not very often, but we did it when the head coach asked us to."
A day on from the Nerazzurri's second defeat of the season at the San Siro, the criticism levelled at them has varied between issues over the balance of the team to individual errors, but the defender reminds us that "when you lose, you lose together. We need to work on things but I think it's normal, you can't always win in football. The crowd booed us off? As I've said, football's like that, the fans are never happy when you lose. What do I have to say to them? I like having a good relationship with supporters, not only when we win but when we lose they need to realise that we can improve if we have their backing."
Finally a word on his relationship with team-mate Andrea Ranocchia both on and off the pitch: "I really get on well with him, he's a great player and a close friend, I really like playing with him."
