MILAN - Alvaro Pereira is officially an Inter player after the paperwork relating to his transfer from Porto was delivered to the Lega Serie A. The Uruguayan has inked a four-year contract tying him to the Nerazzurri until 2016.
Born in Montevideo (Uruguay) on 28 November 1985, Pereira developed as a player in the top divisions in Uruguay and Argentina before making the move to Europe in 2008, when he signed for Cluj. After winning a Romanian Super Cup and a Cupa României, he was snapped up by Porto in 2009. His time in Portugal was immensely successful: two league titles, two Portuguese Cups, four Portuguese Super Cups and one UEFA Europa League triumph (2010/11). Pereira also has 41 caps and 5 goals for Uruguay.
