MILAN - This afternoon F.C. Internazionale signed a three-year deal with the Kurdish Football Association to take Inter Academy to Kurdistan. Nerazzurri commercial director Mario De Vivo, Inter Academy director Marco Monti, president of the Kurdish F.A. Safeen Kanaby and Sarwan Loqman Barzani were all present at Inter headquarters in Milan for the historic signature.
Following Inter's previous football-school project with Abu Dhabi Sports Council, this present agreement means Inter Academy will soon expand its presence in the Middle East, educating children thanks to the knowledge and experience of our coaches. The president of the Kurdish F.A. spoke to Inter Channel about what this new initiative will mean: "I would like to thank Inter. I am very proud because this is the first time a project like this has been undertaken in Kurdish territory, and also because of everything Inter's youth academy has achieved. It's a collaboration of huge significance and I'm sure it will obtain great success throughout the Kurdish territory. Our youngsters are very passionate about football but passion in itself is not enough: this is where Inter's cultural knowledge can help us to develop."
