MILAN – With the victory for Giorgio Gatti's Nerazzurri, the latest derby was
played this season in the respective youth league. From the Primavera to the
Giovanissimi Regionali B, Inter and AC Milan have met a total of 12 times: the
record stands at 10 wins for the Nerazzurri and 2 draws (in the first half of
the season for the Allievi A and Allievi B), with 24 goals scored and 7
conceded. The biggest victory was the 4-0 win by Gianmario Corti's Allievi B
team in the second half of the season.
Roberto Samaden, director of Inter's youth academy, commented: "Our
unbeaten run in the derby is something that certainly pleases us. I believe
it's the first time that it's happened and it's another satisfaction to go
along with all the others in these recent years. AC Milan is our main
'competitor'. They're organised and have the same objectives that we do.
They're the club that we must compare ourselves with. They also make important
investments in their academy, so these wins are further evidence of quality.
The thing I want to stress, and it's the fact that stands out the most, is the
quality of the daily work of our coaches. The derby is a delicate match, both in its tactical and technical aspects as well as in its mental ones. The fact
that we haven't lost means that all the Inter coaches knew how to give their
lads the right motivation and a sense of belonging. The result is not our
primary objective, but it's always nice to win – most of all in the derby,"
concluded Samaden.
