BOLOGNA - Bernazzani's Nerazzurri Primavera pulled off a big win over Bologna at the Stadio Kennedy this afternoon. The three points - combined with AC Milan's win over Varese and the draw between Chievo and Brescia - mean Inter are sure of going straight into the Final Eight of the Campionato Primavera - Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti.
A spectacular game with chances for both sides, it was Inter who took the lead in the 42nd minute: Di Gennaro's clearance fell for Samuele Longo and the striker (who was sent off in the 65th minute for protesting) controlled before chipping the keeper. The Nerazzurri had to withstand a series of Bologna attacks after the break but Duncan gave them some breathing space in the 71st minute, when he made it 2-0 with a brilliant goal. The Ghanaian midfielder picked up the ball on the edge of the box then burst through three opponents before slotting past the keeper. Nerazzurri keeper Di Gennaro was instrumental in the win, pulling off a string of saves to prevent the hosts getting back in the game.
Inter can ensure they finish top of the group with a draw against Udinese next Saturday: if AC Milan win and finish level on 53 points, the Nerazzurri will qualify in first place by virtue of their better head-to-head record over the Rossoneri (two derby wins this season).
