MILAN – A guest at the opening night of Botinero Restaurant 'n' Lounge in Milan yesterday, president Massimo Moratti gave a brief interview to Inter Channel.
If we take our lead from this evening, with so many friends in attendance, you can see why Inter is such a unique family...
"Yes, absolutely, there are players here today who are nearly as old as my children, who have been here for many years, like Zanetti, and naturally there's the sort of closeness that you get with people you trust. The other players who have since joined the club have bought into this philosophy, and in order to do so we've had to win together first and foremost, but also suffer together. It's created a friendly atmosphere at the club."
Andrea Stramaccioni described his appointment as "a bit mad". Do you think this could be the case given that the coach is younger than the club captain?
"It might well have been a slightly crazy decision but he's got talent and that's why I gave him the job. Now he needs to show this talent. We're all working together with him to make sure this a success."
How important is it for Inter to get third place?
"It might be pushing it a bit to say that now, but maybe I'm saying it to urge the team on to do well. We've certainly thrown away a lot of points, there's no doubt about that."
