MILAN - President Massimo Moratti was at the launch of Javier Zanetti and Esteban Cambiasso's new restaurant Botinero this evening.
You can read the comments the president made to journalists here on inter.it.
President, looking at the table as it stands, do you regret dropping points along the way?
"You always regret every point you drop. For example, we only had to beat Cagliari in Trieste and we'd be closer to third place - that makes you realise how careful you have to be. Every game is difficult and our rivals have the same target as us. We want it and now I think we have a new reason to hope."
Right, new hope. Did you expect Andrea Stramaccioni to do so well?
"If he was chosen it's because we hoped he could do well. And it wasn't easy."
There are rumours circulating in France that Leonardo might leave PSG and return to Inter as a director...
"I read that too but I don't know anything about it... I speak to him every now and then; the last time was for the Thiago Motta deal, which went well for both parties."
Has the enthusiasm finally returned?
"You're saying I was lacking in enthusiasm? Didn't you see me jumping up and down yesterday? No, seriously, the motivation has always been there. Above all the passion is there."
In light of his recent performances, are you thinking about signing Mauro Zarate on a permanent deal?
"If he carries on the way he is, it's something we'll consider."
Who do you want to win the Scudetto?
"I've been impressed by Juventus. They are doing very well, they're playing well and very efficiently. That's a novelty: it's not something we expected this year but it's happened. Milan still have a very strong squad. But my preference would be Napoli."
